In Remembrance of Nelson Mandela
I have been fortunate in my lifetime to meet outstanding individuals who not only impacted me personally with their greatness but who changed the world at-large with the relinquishing of self for the greater good. One of those exceptional individuals was Mr. Nelson Mandela. His aura shone brightly and arrested you in its brilliance, if you had the opportunity to orbit his love and grace. Ironically, it’s easy to attach affectionate labels, such as hero and Madiba. But as easy as it is to convey our gratitude with those sterling terms of endearment, we must never forget the courage, strength, and wisdom Mr. Mandela possessed during turbulent times, which would have buckled many of us. Yet, because he was a moral compass of great latitude and persevered to navigate humanity’s current to higher spiritual ground, our own inner greatness gleams the more clearly. And for that, I thank him.

In the midst of this controversy, fans have called on Jay-Z to end his partnership with Barneys, in which his new holiday fashion line is going to be sold. Jay-Z’s response has been a calculated public relations effort in which he negates any real responsibility to his default, “I’m doing it for charity” statement.
